Magnus Sandtorv has a diverse work experience. Magnus is currently working as a Program Manager at Microsoft in the Education Engineering department since July 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Technical Architect at Crayon from November 2021. Before that, they worked at Microsoft as a Teams Release Manager and later as a member of the Education Engineering World Wide Engagement team. Magnus has also worked as a Solution Architect at Atea Norge from May 2019 to February 2021 and as an IT Advisor at Horten kommune from November 2014 to April 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Teneo Data AS and as the founder of virtualizeIT. Magnus served as the IT Manager at Keytouch Technology as well.

Magnus Sandtorv earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and IT Management from the University of South-Eastern Norway from 2007 to 2010. During the same time, they also studied Informatics, Economics, and Management. In 2009, Magnus briefly attended Sør-Trøndelag University College (HiST) and focused on Virtual Servers and desktop virtualization (VMware). Additionally, Magnus has obtained multiple certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals from Microsoft in 2022, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) both in 2020, and CLD277x: Microsoft Service Adoption Specialist in 2019. Magnus is also a certified Microsoft 365 Identity and Services professional, an Enterprise Mobility Associate and Professional, a Certified Security Professional, and has expertise in Windows Server 2008 R2 and server virtualization. Magnus recently obtained the Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification in 2022.
