Joe Volpe

Director of Technology at Crazy Legs Productions

Joe Volpe is the current Tech Manager at Crazy Legs Productions. Prior to that, they were with NURAY Media from July 2015 to July 2016 as a Technical Business Analyst. In that role, Joe worked to implement best practices for various digital and analogy media archival solutions. Joe used Windows active directory, and various VM solutions to insure efficiency across the studio. Joe also worked with film scanners and rotoscoping softwares to clean, preserve, and remaster films for distribution.

Before NURAY Media, Joe was with Youth Digital from July 2015 to August 2015 as a Course Instructor. In that role, they taught courses to students of all ages in game design using Unity, C++ coding basics, and hacking Mine Craft. Joe also helped to develop and deliver curriculum.

Joe's first job in the industry was with Shoebox Story Productions in October 2013 where they served as Director & Producer. In that role, they produced and directed a commercial film for the collection of video games "Sports Friends". Joe also drafted treatments, scripts, shot lists, and budgets for client review and collaborated with actors and DOP to choreograph shots. The commercial is soon to be viewable on the Playstation network store and Steam.

After Shoebox Story Productions, Joe took on the role of Post Production Tech Consultant with NorthSouth Productions from January 2012 to December 2012.

Joe Volpe began their educational career by studying design and technology at Parsons School of Design - The New School. Joe then went on to study film and tv at Savannah College of Art and Design where they earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).
