Paul J. Marchand

Lead Optical Holography Engineer at CREAL

Paul J. Marchand has been a Lead Holography Engineer at CREAL since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Chercheur postdoctoral at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne from 2021. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Chercheur postdoctoral at Polytechnique Montréal, where they investigated the impact of targeted microstrokes on cerebrovascular physiology and developed novel imaging techniques to study cerebral physiology at high spatial and temporal resolution, using cutting edge microscopy (Two and three-photon microscopy, optical coherence tomography, laser speckle imaging, oxygen-sensitive phosphorescence quenching imaging).

Paul J. Marchand has a comprehensive educational background. Paul J. began their studies in 2006 at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microengineering in 2010. Paul J. then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Nanotechnology from both Grenoble INP - Phelma and Politecnico di Torino, which they completed in 2012. In the same year, they obtained a Master of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and Neurotechnologies from Imperial College London. From 2013 to 2018, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Optical Engineering, Microscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography, and Medical Imaging at EPFL. Finally, they completed two postdoctoral programs, one at the University of Geneva in 2018 and another at Polytechnique Montréal from 2018 to 2020, both in the field of Neuroimaging and Optical Coherence Tomography.
