James Battmer

James Battmer serves as the Chief Investment Officer at Creative Planning since September 2023, previously holding the same position at Creative Planning Retirement Services from December 2021 to October 2023. Prior to that, James was the Chief Investment Officer at Lockton Companies from March 2021 to December 2021, where the focus was on leveraging independence to enhance investment strategies. From January 2017 to March 2021, James held the role of Chief Investment Officer at OneDigital, Resources Investment Advisors, & Bukaty Financial. James also served as Chief Economist & Lead Portfolio Manager at Bukaty Companies from February 2010 to March 2021 and held the position of Vice President at UMB from April 2004 to September 2008. Early career experience includes working as an Analyst at Morgan Stanley from 2002 to 2004. James holds a Master's degree in Economics and Economic History from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
