John Williams

General Counsel at Credit Plus

John joined Credit Plus in 2006 as General Counsel and oversees all aspects of the company’s legal affairs including corporate and regulatory compliance. With a career spanning more than three decades, Mr. Williams has extensive legal experience. Prior to joining Credit Plus, he was in private practice and held partner positions at two law firms located in Maryland. Mr. Williams’ practice focused on family and criminal law. Before that, he was an attorney in Harford County, Maryland.

Mr. Williams has advanced mediation training and has successfully argued several cases before the Court of Special Appeals and Court of Appeals in Maryland. Since July of 1999, Mr. Williams has been one of the attorneys staffing the Pro Se Family Law Clinic for the Circuit Court of Wicomico County, Maryland which offers pro bono legal consultation to self-represented litigants.

Mr. Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Salisbury State College, now known as Salisbury University, and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Baltimore Law School.
