Quentin Hanchard began their work experience in 1997 as a Forestry Technician and GIS Coordinator at Ecotone Consulting. From 2000 to 2003, they worked as a Planner in Planning Policy and Research at the Region of Peel. In 2003, they joined the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority as an Associate Director in Development Planning and Permits, a role they held until 2021. In 2007, Hanchard took on the position of Course Director for the Graduate Program in Environmental Studies at York University, which they held until 2017. Recently, in 2021, they became the Chief Administrative Officer at Credit Valley Conservation.
Quentin Hanchard completed their Master of Environmental Studies degree in Urban Planning and Environmental Planning from York University, from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from The University of British Columbia in 1996. Quentin also attended Prince of Wales Secondary School in Vancouver, BC, where they completed the Trek Outdoor Education Program.
In terms of additional certifications, Quentin Hanchard became a Certified Environmental Professional from the Canadian Environmental Accreditation Commission in June 2019. Quentin is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, obtaining their membership in January 2004. Additionally, they are a Registered Professional Planner with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, also achieving this certification in January 2004. Lastly, Quentin Hanchard has not specified any obtained month or year for their Professional Land Economist certification from the Association of Ontario Land Economists.
