Carol Friesen

Carol Friesen serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Eastern Region of OSF HealthCare since February 2019, previously holding the CEO position for the Northern Region from January 2019 to July 2022. In this role, Carol leads a $1 billion region encompassing over 5,000 Mission Partners, six owned hospitals, four cancer centers, 21 urgent care clinics, and eight joint ventures. Prior to OSF, Carol served as Vice President of Health System Services at Bryan Health from July 2012 to January 2019, overseeing a regional presence of 48 hospitals. Additionally, Carol was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Crete Area Medical Center from July 2007 to July 2013 and held financial leadership roles at Boone County Health Center and Henderson Health Care Services. Carol Friesen holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Bellevue University, and an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Southeast Community College.
