Sam Wiltzius

Sam Wiltzius has extensive work experience in various roles related to technology management and leadership.

In 1998, Sam worked as a Computer Sales Manager at Follett Higher Education Group, where they were responsible for software and hardware sales. They received recognition as the national university retail store of the year.

Sam then joined Lawrence University in 2000 as a Microcomputer Specialist, focusing on evaluating and improving IT delivery processes. They played a role in refining helpdesk protocols, systems upgrades, and hardware installations. They also aligned IT support with Instructional Technology staff.

In 2004, Sam became the Manager of Information Technology at Brand Directions. They led a corporate redesign of IT systems, ensuring hardware, software, legal compliance, and customer requirements were met. They successfully executed upgrade plans ahead of schedule and under budget.

From 2013 to 2018, Sam worked at the University of Wisconsin-Extension. They initially served as an IT Services Manager for Instructional Communications Systems, responsible for technology leadership in distance education, hotel, and conferencing services. They later became the Chief Technology Officer, providing strategic and tactical IT leadership.

Sam then joined UW-Shared Services in 2018 as the Chief Technology Officer for UWSS IT. They provided strategic technology leadership for the newly formed organization, supporting multiple universities of the University of Wisconsin System. They were involved in designing green field IT systems with a focus on cloud technologies.

In 2020, Sam joined Crescent Electric Supply Company as the Director of Digital Transformation. They later assumed the role of Senior Director of Business Process Improvement in 2021.

Lastly, Sam has been the owner of Wired for Flight LLC since 2003, where they provide personalized flight training and various aviation services.

Sam Wiltzius has a diverse education history. In 1995, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, which they completed in 2000. They later pursued a Master's degree in Technology Management from the same university, starting in 2009 and continuing without a specified end year. In 2014, Sam attended the University of Wisconsin Colleges for the Academy for Leadership & Innovation program. In addition to their formal education, Sam has obtained various certifications in different fields, such as leadership, change management, and aviation training.
