Zaki Hassan

Director Finance at Crescent Petroleum

Zaki Hassan has extensive experience in the energy industry, particularly in finance and research. Zaki started their career at Caminus Energy Consulting, where they worked as a Consultant, providing economic advisory services in the UK electricity and gas markets. Zaki then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Director in Energy Corporate Finance, Valuation, and Strategy, where they provided advisory services to governments, multinationals, and private sector clients. In 2005, they became the Managing Director at Global Union Energy Ventures, focusing on finance raising for refinery projects and energy infrastructure. From 2007 onwards, Zaki held senior positions at Crescent Petroleum and Dana Gas in the United Arab Emirates, serving as the Director of Finance and Head of Research, respectively. Their roles included reporting directly to the Board, Chairman, and Executive Directors at Crescent Petroleum and spearheading market research and analysis at Dana Gas.

Zaki Hassan's education history begins with their time at Queen Mary University of London, where they pursued a PhD in Theoretical Physics from 1987 to 1991. Prior to that, from 1984 to 1987, Zaki attended Christ Church, Oxford where they obtained a First degree in Physics. Their earlier education includes attending Southgate Technical College from 1982 to 1984, where they obtained A levels in Science.
