David Bean

Director, Retail Risk Management at Cresco Labs

David Bean, CPP has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. David began their career in 2000 as a Security Forces member in the United States Air Force, where they gained expertise in conducting security missions and completed advanced training in anti-terrorism and force protection. After leaving the military in 2007, David joined the Missouri Air National Guard as Chief Master Sergeant in Emergency Management, where they played a key role in designing and equipping an Emergency Operations Center and developing various response plans for natural disasters and other emergencies.

In 2008, David transitioned to the St. Louis County Police Department as a Police Officer, focusing on maintaining public safety and building positive community relations. During their tenure, they were entrusted with repairing the relationship between the police department and a high-crime high school.

In 2012, David joined Centene Corporation, a Fortune 25 company, as the Director of Physical Security Operations. In this role, they initiated an Open Source Intelligence program, played a critical role in developing international travel policies and executive duress tracking protocols, and supported the implementation of COVID planning. David also contributed to business continuity efforts through crisis event data analysis.

In 2022, David moved to Intrado Life & Safety as the Senior Director of Technical Operations, where they provided leadership in the technical aspect of operations.

Currently, David is working at Cresco Labs as the Director of Retail Risk Management, a position they started in 2023.

Throughout their career, David has consistently demonstrated their ability to lead, strategize, and implement effective risk management, emergency response, and security measures. David'swork experience reflects a strong focus on information analysis, cross-departmental collaboration, and crisis leadership.

David Bean, CPP has a Master of Art degree in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. David also holds an Associate of Science degree in Emergency Management from the Community College of the Air Force, earned from 2016 to 2017. Furthermore, they have a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Purdue Global, completed between 2005 and 2008. David also acquired an Undergraduate Certificate in Terrorism and National Security Management from Kapan University in 2004-2005, and an Associates degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the Community College of the Air Force in 2002-2004. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as OSINT Essential Training from LinkedIn in 2022, Corporate Security Advisor from the Missouri Department of Public Safety in 2021, ICS 300 and ICS 400 from FEMA in 2016, Protective Services and Anti-Terrorism Evasive Driving from the US Army in 2006, and the CPP certification from ASIS International.
