Tianying Teanna Feng has a diverse range of work experience in research and education. Tianying Teanna worked as a Research Assistant at the CRESST National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing, where they contributed to research on educational games and simulations. Tianying Teanna also worked as a Mathematics Tutor at California Teach, where they gained field experiences by interning at Lincoln Middle School. In this role, they assisted the lead teacher in monitoring the class learning progress, preparing lessons, grading, and teaching eighth-grade algebra and geometry. Additionally, Tianying worked as a Research Assistant at the Human Perception Laboratory, where they contributed to research on human perception of curvature under global influence. Tianying Teanna assisted graduate students in different research tasks such as creating research criteria, designing research, finding scholarly literature, analyzing data, and running research participants.

Tianying Teanna Feng completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science with a specialization in Computing at UCLA from 2015 to 2019. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree at UCLA from 2019 to 2020, with a field of study in Education - Social Research Methodology, emphasizing advanced quantitative methods. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Introduction to User Experience Design from Coursera in August 2017.
