Crystal Tung

Crystal Tung currently serves as the Principal at Crete Academy Charter School, managing two TK-6th grade campuses in South Central Los Angeles since November 2023. Previous roles include Principal in Residence at Equitas Academy Charter Schools and Assistant School Director at the School District of Philadelphia. Crystal's career in education began as an Assistant Principal at Baltimore City Public Schools and as an Elementary School Teacher, primarily teaching 2nd and 3rd grades. A recipient of the New Teacher of the Year award in 2013-14, Crystal participated in the Teach For America program from 2013 to 2015. Crystal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Education in Elementary Education from The Johns Hopkins University.
