John A. Sweeney is an accomplished academic and practitioner in futures studies and anticipatory governance, currently serving as the UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies for Anticipatory Governance and Sustainable Policy at Westminster International University in Tashkent. Sweeney is a co-editor for World Futures Review, focusing on strategic foresight communication among diverse sectors. Experience includes roles as adjunct faculty at the University of Houston, senior advisor for CMI — Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation, transformative foresight lead at the School of International Futures, and educator for Duke Corporate Education. Sweeney also advises HA:KU.global and contributes as a Youth Foresight Expert with UNICEF Innocenti, developing frameworks and tools for youth foresight.
