Renuka Gentela is currently the Vice President of Fighting For Hope, where responsibilities include overseeing club activities, ensuring smooth operations, and leading a mental health course. In addition, Renuka serves as a Nurse Unit Assistant at Washington Hospital Healthcare System, an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of California, San Francisco, and an HIV Counselor with the UCSF Alliance Health Project, providing critical support to the LGBTQ+ community. As an Alumni Board Manager for the National Girls Collaborative, Renuka fosters connections between current and past students, organizes outreach events, and promotes women in STEM. Experience also includes serving as a Crisis Counselor at Crisis Support Services of Alameda County and an Undergraduate Learning Mentor at UC Berkeley. Renuka holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, expected in 2025, and previously engaged with the Kentucky Department of Education as a Commissioner's Student Council Member and contributed to Fiveable as a Founding Member.
