Joakim Hesselgren has extensive work experience in the film industry. Joakim is currently working as a Film Director at Crisp Film, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Film Producer & Film Director at Bond Street Film from September 2021 to November 2022. Before that, they worked at Framelab AB as a Film Director from April 2014 to September 2021. During their time at Framelab AB, they also took on various roles such as editor, producer, project manager, casting director, drone operator, and video photographer for clients including Byggmax, Paradox Interactive, 1177, Pågen, Region Uppsala, and RFSU.

Before joining Framelab AB, Joakim worked as a Freelancer at Hesselgren Productions from June 2009 to April 2014, where they took on roles such as First Assistant Director (FAD), video photographer, casting director, PA, and video editor in commercials, features, and TV projects.

Joakim also worked at different companies and projects in various roles. Joakim was a Video Editor at Framelab AB from June 2011 to November 2013, where they also served as a Director/Content Producer for 12 reportage and 12 commercials for the Swedish and Norwegian markets for client Byggmax. Joakim was a Casting Director at Framelab AB from May 2012 to August 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Video Photographer and Video Editor at Spets Produktion from February 2013 to June 2013.

Earlier in their career, Joakim worked as a Camera Operator and Vision Mixer for Big Brother 2011 at Endemol from January 2011 to June 2011. Joakim also served as a Hair and Make-up runner, Driver/Runner, and PA on the feature film Girl with the Dragon Tattoo at Malte Forsell Film AB from August 2010 to December 2010. Additionally, they worked as a Props Master on the film Kyss mig at Lebox Produktion AB in July 2010.

Joakim started their career as a Trainee at Yellow Bird from August 2009 to December 2009, where they worked as a Runner/Driver and Second Assistant Director (SAD) on films including Wallander Vålnaden, Arvet, Indrivaren, and Vittnet.

Joakim Hesselgren began their education at Skurups Folkhögskola in 2008, where they pursued a Folkhögskoleutbildning degree in Praktisk filmutbildning. Joakim completed their studies at Skurups Folkhögskola in 2010. Later, in 2014, Joakim attended Biskops Arnö - Nordens Folkhögskola, where they pursued another Folkhögskoleutbildning degree. This time, their field of study was Att skriva dramatik. Joakim completed their studies at Biskops Arnö - Nordens Folkhögskola in 2015.
