Maaike Everts

Maaike Everts is an accomplished executive with substantial experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. As the Executive Director of the Critical Path Institute since April 2022, Maaike leads the Translational Therapeutics Accelerator Program. Prior roles include Director of Strategic Marketing at Evonik Health Care and Associate Director at the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance, where Maaike contributed to facilitating drug discovery through collaboration with the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Southern Research. Extensive academic experience includes serving in various capacities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, culminating with the position of Professor, and overseeing the Antiviral Drug Discovery and Development Center. Maaike holds a PhD in Pharmacokinetics and Drug Delivery from the University of Groningen and a certificate in Biotechnology Project Management from UW Professional & Continuing Education.
