Sean Carruth has a diverse work experience spanning from 1989 to present. Sean started their career as a Youth Programs Assistant at Michigan United Conservation Clubs in January 1989. In November 1989, they became a Franchise Owner of Critter Control of Warren, where they managed a small business focused on wildlife removal and prevention. After eight years, they sold the business and joined Critter Control's corporate office as Vice President of Communications in April 1997. In this role, they oversaw communication processes for over 100 franchisees, including publishing newsletters, managing websites, and developing email campaigns.

Sean Carruth earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Michigan State University, where they attended from 1986 to 1989. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Michigan Commercial Pesticide Applicator from the Michigan Department of Agriculture in December 2014. Sean also holds a certification of Restricted Use Pesticide Dealer from the same institution, although the specific date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
