Lead Research Scientist at Croda

Weigang (Eric) Huang is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in lipid chemistry and biosensor development. Currently serving as Lead Research Scientist at Croda since August 2020, and as Lead Research Scientist at Avanti Polar Lipids since November 2018, Weigang specializes in new product development and batch production of various lipids, including ionizable lipids. Prior experience includes a role as Research Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where development of biosensors and small molecule inhibitors for phospholipid metabolic enzymes took place, notably resulting in a commercially available biosensor for phospholipase C isozymes. Weigang's academic journey culminated in a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007.
