Portia Cox

Portia Cox is an experienced professional in security, corrections, and education, currently serving as a NYS Security Guard Instructor at Croker Fire Drill Corp. and an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College (CUNY). Previously, Portia held the position of Loss Prevention Manager at New York Marriott Marquis and served as a Corrections Captain at the New York City Department of Corrections, where responsibilities included supervising inmate visitation areas and managing a team of 15 Correctional Officers. Earlier roles included working as a Mental Health Aide at Bronx State Psychiatric Hospital and a Security Agent at Gap. Portia is pursuing a dual master's in Public Policy and Protection Management at John Jay College, alongside additional master's degrees in Public Administration and Protection Management, having previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Movement Therapy and Movement Education from CUNY York College.
