Tracy Atkin (Benge) has an extensive work experience beginning in 2002 when they were the Head of Strategy and Finance at AMP. Tracy then moved to Business Services Group Ltd in 2008 as a Process Improvement Consultant, specializing in full life-cycle project management, end-to-end process re-engineering, accounting and business management. In 2012, they became the Management Accountant at Coopers Creek Vineyard, focusing on stock management. In 2010, they were the Supply Chain & Production Manager at Toi Toi Wines, managing the supply chain and procurement, and overseeing the bottling and export processes. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Project Manager - Sustainability at New Zealand Winegrowers, leading a Continuous Improvement project to extend the Sustainable Winegrowing NZ Program and project-managing the software implementation of Sustainable Winegrowing NZ's new Scorecard platform. In 2020, they became the Chief Executive Officer at Marlborough Capital Ltd, where they provided funding, capital raising and corporate advisory services to small and growth-stage businesses, including strategic planning, business mentoring and governance. In 2021, they became the Board Chair, Governance and Strategy Advisor at The Smart Machine Company. In 2022, they became an Independent Director at Rangitāne Investments Ltd and Rangitāne Holdings Ltd, and an Executive Director at Cropsy Technologies.
Tracy Atkin (Benge) has a long and varied educational background. Tracy obtained their Chartered Accountant certification from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in 1993. In 1999 and 2000, they completed a Certified Project Manager program from NZICA - Project Manager. In 2002 and 2004, they earned a Grapegrowing and Winemaking degree from EIT Hawkes Bay, with a focus on Oenology. In 2013, they completed a Stage 1 Kaizen Lean Transformation course from Kaizen, focusing on Process Improvement. In 2019, they completed the Escalator programme from AWDT (Agri Womens Development Trust) with a focus on Leadership and Governance, as well as a Governance Essentials course from the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Tracy also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) from Victoria University of Wellington, with a focus on Accounting and Commercial Law. Most recently, in April 2021, Tracy completed an Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies course from Harvard Business School, focusing on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
