Derek Rude

Derek Rude has worked in the agricultural industry since 1998. Derek began their career at PAMI (Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute) as a Project Manager, Agricultural Development Services, then a Project Leader, and finally a Project Technologist. In 2016 they joined CropPro Consulting as a Research and Development Manager, where they were responsible for integrating, supporting, and deploying CropPro GIS processes, managing current field data collection equipment and processes, and researching new precision agriculture technologies. In 2020, they moved to Croptimistic Technology Inc. as VP of Research and Development, and also took on the role of Global Sales Lead. In this role, they developed a network of global partner Agri-businesses and sold and supported the SWAT MAPS variable rate process, CropRecords farm and agronomy consultant software, and SWAT BOX soil mapping system.

Derek Rude attended SIAST Kelsey Institute (now Saskatchewan Polytechnic) from 1996 to 1998 and obtained an A.Sc.T. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering Related Technologies/Technicians.
