Ryan Egeland has a diverse work experience in the medical field, spanning from executive positions to consulting roles. Ryan is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Crossfire Medical, where they oversee the development of interventional devices for treating chronic venous insufficiency. Ryan is also a Founding Partner & Managing Director at Big Sky Biomedical.

In addition, Ryan has served as a Voting Member of the Board of Directors at SUTUREGARD Medical, Inc. and Vergent Bioscience. Ryan was the Chairman of the Board at Surgical Innovation Associates, where they advised and guided the company before its successful $150 million exit.

Prior to their current roles, Ryan worked at Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. as the Head of Strategic Ventures & Chief Medical Officer, where they provided leadership and guidance on matters related to cardiovascular medicine and product development. Ryan also held the position of Executive VP, Medical Affairs at the same company.

Before joining Cardiovascular Systems, Inc., Ryan worked at Medtronic in various roles, including Senior Director of Business Development & Licensing and Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs. Ryan led deal sourcing and integration efforts for the Surgical Innovations lung business franchise and contributed to the development of the Stellarex drug-coated angioplasty balloon.

Ryan's earlier roles include Chief Scientific Officer at Midwest Regenerative Medicine, Principal at Surgery Innovation Inc., and Executive Consultant at Berico Technologies. Ryan has a strong background in scientific research and has contributed to the development and commercialization of several medical devices.

Ryan Egeland's education history is as follows:

From 2000 to 2006, Ryan attended Harvard Medical School, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in the field of Medicine.

Prior to that, from 1998 to 2000, they studied at the University of Oxford, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomolecular Engineering. During this time, they were also a Rhodes Scholar.

Before completing their Ph.D., Ryan pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Ryan completed this program in 1998 as a Rhodes Scholar.

Ryan'sundergraduate studies took place at Colorado College from 1993 to 1997. There, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with honors (magna cum laude) in Chemistry.
