Esha Datta

Esha Datta's work experience begins in 2005 as a Contractor/Librarian at the Los Alamos National Laboratory Research Library. In this role, they focused on working on scripts to help ingest records into the repository, and also worked briefly as a reference librarian. Esha helped ingest 56 million records into the repository and was involved in various steps of the process, including quality assurance and ingestion.

In 2007, Esha joined Bobst Library - NYU as a Senior Programmer/Analyst. Here, they created a Rails application to aggregate metadata from data providers, created scripts to push data into Drupal websites, customized a JRuby Rails application, generated Solr and AJAX-enabled websites, contributed to feature enhancements and maintained legacy software. Esha also created prototype applications using different metadata formats and tools. Esha worked at Bobst Library until May 2018.

Since June 2018, they have been working at Crossref as a Principal R&D Developer, though no specific details about this role are provided.

Esha Datta holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Birmingham-Southern College and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in ITIL.
