Ryan Eastwick

Chief Mate at Crowley Marine

Ryan Eastwick has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ryan started their career as an Arabic Linguist in the United States Marine Corps, where they served from 2007 to 2012. During their time in the military, they received a Certificate of Commendation for their outstanding performance during combat. After their discharge, Ryan joined Keystone Shipping Co. as a Deck Cadet, gaining autonomy and trust while performing cargo and navigational watches aboard the Seakay Spirit. In 2015, they joined Alcatraz Cruises as a deckhand and worked their way up to becoming a First Officer. Ryan then transitioned to Crowley Marine in 2018, first serving as a 3rd Mate responsible for transporting petroleum products along the West coast of the USA and Canada. In 2020, they became a Second Mate before eventually assuming the role of Chief Mate in 2022.

Ryan Eastwick attended California State University Maritime Academy from 2014 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Transportation. During their time in college, Ryan also pursued a minor in Business Administration. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2009, they attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and successfully completed an Associate of Arts degree in Arabic Studies. In terms of additional certifications, Ryan obtained the National Chief Mate Unlimited OC or NC certification from the U.S. Coast Guard in January 2022. Ryan also received the National Master 500/1600 GL and Inland certification from the U.S. Coast Guard in November 2021.
