Chris Pinkerton

Chief Mate, Dpo, 2nd Mate, 3rd Mate at Transocean

Chris Pinkerton began their work experience in 2003 with Gallagher Marine Systems, where they participated in incident command operations for an oil spill cleanup. Chris then worked as a cadet at Seabulk Tankers in both deck and engineering roles. In 2005, Pinkerton served as a Chief Engineer at Moran Towing and Transportation, responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems. This was followed by a position as a 3rd Assistant Engineer and Electrician at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. From 2007 to 2013, Pinkerton worked at Penn Maritime, Inc. as a Mate of Towing Vessels, ensuring navigational and cargo operations were carried out according to company policies. Since 2013, Pinkerton has been employed at Transocean in various positions, including Chief Mate, DPO, 2nd Mate, and 3rd Mate, aboard drillships and semi-submersibles.

Chris Pinkerton has an educational background in maritime studies. Chris obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, completed in 2004. Prior to that, they received a High School Diploma from Norfolk Collegiate School. In terms of certifications, Chris holds various qualifications such as Chief Mate and Master licenses from the USCG, as well as a Dynamic Positioning Operator certification from The Nautical Institute.
