Margarida Silva

Margarida Silva has over two decades of work experience in the banking industry. Margarida began their career at Banco do Brasil in 1995, where they served as the Head of Retail Banking, overseeing operations and managing a team of 46 employees. Margarida played a pivotal role in implementing new computer systems and was involved in all aspects of deposit accounts and customer services. In 2005, they became the Head of Know Your Customer & Agent Services, responsible for managing the Retail Banking Branch staff and ensuring compliance in reviewing KYC documentation for various accounts and trade finance deals.

In 2008, Margarida joined Banco do Brasil (FSB) as the General Manager in Newark, NJ. There, they contributed to the development of a new business plan and established client relationships within the Brazilian and Portuguese communities.

Margarida later transitioned to UBS NY AG - Compliance and UBS AG, holding roles as an Associate Director, Compliance Consultant, and Associate Director - Compliance. Margarida managed the BSA/AML team, overseeing the implementation of the BSA/AML/OFAC program throughout the bank. Margarida provided training to employees at the corporate and branch level and conducted in-house BSA training for branch managers and the board of directors.
