Ben Snyder

Ben Snyder serves as a Principal Applied Scientist (ML) Tech Lead Manager at Cruise since January 2022, also holding roles as Principal ML/Robotics TLM, Technical Advisor to the CEO, and Technical Advisor to the CTO. Prior experience includes a Principal Researcher position at Microsoft from November 2018 to January 2022, and founding Driftwave, where Ben was CEO from November 2017 to November 2018. At Amazon, Ben worked as a Senior Applied Scientist and Manager of AI and Robotics from January 2015 to October 2017, leading advanced robotics R&D with expertise in various technologies. Ben was a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from January 2011 to January 2016, overseeing a research lab and securing over $1 million in funding. Earlier roles include a Postdoc in Machine Learning and a Research Software Engineer at the University of Pennsylvania. Ben earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.
