Steven Chen

Steven Chen is a seasoned technology leader in the field of machine perception, currently serving as a Sr. Staff Tech Lead Manager at Cruise since December 2021, after advancing from roles as Staff Tech Lead Manager and Staff Applied Research Scientist. Prior experience includes a position as a Research Scientist at Facebook from September 2017 to December 2021, contributing to the LiveMaps system for AR glasses. Steven’s academic background comprises a Ph.D. and an MSc in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where research was conducted under the supervision of Professor Jonathan How. Additional experience includes roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Toronto and a Student Intern at Airbus Group.
