Arika Yanaka's work experience begins in 2004 as a Coordinator and Assistant to the Executive Producer at Creative Enterprise International, Inc. This role continued until 2011. In 2007, they also took on the role of Supervisor and Program Coordinator at the Japanese Language Scholarship Foundation, which they held until 2011 as well. From 2008 to 2008, they worked as a Translator and managed the website at Tree Media.

In 2011, Arika Yanaka worked as a Producer at c.2K Entertainment until July 2015. During the same year, they directed and produced a short documentary film called "Pretty People" about actors with physical disabilities. It was screened at New Filmmakers Los Angeles 2011 and the 36th Cleveland International Film Festival.

From August 2015 to January 2017, Arika worked as a Freelance Media Professional. Arika then joined TOKYOPOP in January 2017 as a Licensing Specialist and remained in this role until November 2022.

Most recently, Arika Yanaka joined Crunchyroll in November 2022 as an Associate Licensing Manager.

Arika Yanaka attended UCLA from 2021 to 2022, where they pursued a course in Legal Assistant/Paralegal. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Cinematography and Film/Video Production from Boston University, completing their studies between 2001 and 2004. Arika Yanaka obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in American/United States Studies/Civilization from Japan Women's University of Japan, where they studied from 1997 to 2001. Additionally, they spent the academic year 1999-2000 participating in a Junior Year Abroad program at Wellesley College.
