Jeff L. has worked in a variety of software development roles since 2015. In 2015, they worked as a Java Programmer for FIRST Robotics Team 6135: Arctos. In 2016, they worked as a Lifeguard at Canada's Wonderland. In 2018, they began working as a Software Developer for Epson Canada's Imaging Algorithm Team, where they drove the research cycle by executing performance evaluation experiments and increased the efficiency of the evaluation process by automating it via Python scripts. In 2019, they worked as a Software Developer for both Imagine Communications and GEOTAB. At Imagine Communications, they extended the breakaway feature for the Magellan™ SDN Orchestrator by adding feature support on both the client and server side and converted the Selenio X100 web application into a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) software application. At GEOTAB, they were part of the team that worked on the SmartChargeRewards program, and increased index searching speeds by 50% in a SQL table containing vehicle data by filtering unnecessary index keys, and constructed an application service to create and accept users in the database based on ZIP code in C#. Jeff also implemented several UI changes to improve consistency throughout the dashboards and added a timeout on an AWS EMR job so that it would be automatically killed after 12 hours, which saved EMR hour usage by 50%. Jeff L. has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained between 2017 and 2022. Jeff also has a High School Diploma from Bloor Collegiate Institute, which they obtained between 2013 and 2017 as part of the TOPS on Bloor Program: Talented Offerings in the Program of Sciences. Additionally, Jeff L. obtained a RCM Grade 8 Piano certification from the Royal Conservatory of Music in June 2015.
