Adam Weigold, PhD has a long and varied work experience in the fields of technology, business development, and investments. In 1994, they founded Photonica Pty Ltd as Australia's first solid-state laser business and grew it from a single person entity into three separate business divisions totaling 250 employees globally. In 1998, they became Manager of Australasian Laser Sales for Northrop Grumman and in 1999, they became Director of Australasian Photonics Sales for VIAVI Solutions. From 2004 to 2016, they were Managing Director of Critical Mass Investments, where they managed seed and early stage investments into scientific industrial, telecom, medical, entertainment and hospitality business opportunities. In 2009, they became Director of Technology & Business Development for Infrared Healthcare and in 2011, they founded Lightning Gun, a Directed Energy Weapons Research project. From 2018 to 2021, they served as Technology and Business Development Advisor for Loyakk Inc. and Technology Advisor for PlayChip Foundation. Finally, in 2021, they became Founder, CEO and Chairman of Decentryk, which is building NFT minting and verification software for digitizing real-world physical assets.
Adam Weigold earned their Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Atomic and Laser Physics from Macquarie University from 1988 to 1992. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc. with 1st Class Hons.) in Elementary Particle Physics from Flinders University from 1987 to 1988. Adam also obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Atomic/Molecular Physics from the University of Adelaide from 1983 to 1987.
