Pekka Manninen

Director Of Science And Technology at CSC-IT Center for Science

Pekka Manninen serves as the Director of Science and Technology and the Director of the LUMI Leadership Computing Facility at CSC - IT Center for Science since April 2015, leading a team of 18-20 domain experts in scientific computing. Simultaneously, Pekka holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Helsinki. Previous roles include Applications Analyst at Cray Inc., Director at the PRACE Advanced Training Center, and Training Manager at CSC. With expertise in high-performance computing, Pekka has contributed to R&D on exascale programming models and provided education and outreach in scientific training. Academic qualifications include a Habilitation in Physical Chemistry from the University of Helsinki, a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics, and an M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Oulu.
