Marshall Clement currently serves as the Deputy Director and Division Director of State Initiatives & Justice Reinvestment at The Council of State Governments Justice Center, a position held since August 2005. In this role, Marshall developed and leads initiatives aimed at assisting policymakers to enhance public safety, reduce corrections spending, and ensure accountability for offenders. This work involves directing a team of national experts and policy analysts in analyzing criminal justice data and crafting policy options. Prior to this, from July 2003 to July 2005, Marshall worked as a Policy Research Associate and AmeriCorps*VISTA Volunteer at the Rhode Island Family Life Center (now Open Doors). Marshall holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Public Policy and American Institutions from Brown University, attained in 2003.
