Mirna Galic is an accomplished expert in international relations with significant experience in strategic and policy roles. Currently serving as the Deputy Director and Senior Fellow for the Japan Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies since September 2025, Galic previously held positions such as Senior Expert for East Asia at the United States Institute of Peace and Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. Additional experience includes a Visiting Fellowship at the Japan Institute of International Affairs, Senior Advisor for the U.S. Department of State focusing on Afghanistan and Pakistan, and a Consultant role at the Brookings Institution. Galic's career also features a tenure as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Senator Russ Feingold and as Special Advisor on Counter-Terrorism at the United Nations. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Affairs in International Relations from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems from Stanford University.
