Michael Invernale

Michael works directly with Connecticut businesses pursuing non-dilutive funding from SBIR, STTR, and other federal programs, supporting efforts to secure funding that can accelerate research and development efforts. He provides education and guidance, helps founders and executives assess their eligibility for various programs, and connects businesses with agencies throughout the state that can further support their evolving needs.

Concurrent to his position at CTNext, Michael is also a Senior Licensing Manager at the University of Connecticut and Chief Science Officer at Longsleeve Inc., a topical protective product company aimed at preventing the proliferation of disease. In 2020, Michael helped Longsleeve secure a $225,000 NSF SBIR Phase 1 Award.

Earlier in his career, Michael served as Technical Director at Tower Laboratories in Essex and was Executive Vice President at Ultimate Nutrition, a wellness and fitness services company in Farmington. Michael is a resident of West Haven. He holds a BS in Chemistry.
