Emily Commer

Emily Commer has extensive work experience in alumni engagement, events management, and outreach. Emily currently holds the position of Director of Alumni Engagement at Cultural Vistas since July 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Alumni + Constituent Engagement Officer at the same organization from March 2020 to July 2021. Emily also served as a Senior Events Officer, responsible for creating strategic events for an international affairs nonprofit, from February 2018 to March 2020. Before joining Cultural Vistas, Emily worked as an Events & Outreach Officer from January 2014 to January 2018, and as an Outreach Coordinator from October 2008 to December 2013. Emily has also gained experience as an Event Producer at the US Embassy in Berlin from July 2016 to September 2016. In addition, they have worked as a Marketing Assistant & Alumni Coordinator at CDS International from September 2006 to September 2008, as well as a Student Service International Fellow at the Robert Bosch Foundation from September 2005 to June 2006. Emily's early career included internships in marketing at Porsche Engineering Group, where they also served as an Event Consultant for a short period in 2004.

Emily Commer earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Global Business Management from California State University San Marcos. Emily then pursued a Master of Arts in International Business from The Open University before graduating in 2004.
