Jeffrey Thayer

Director, Hardware Engineering at Culture Biosciences

Jeffrey Thayer has over 30 years of experience in the engineering field. Jeffrey began their career in 1989 as the Chief Engineer at 3D Systems, Inc., where they were the primary resource for all technical issues from invention to product launch. Jeffrey was also the primary inventor of MultiJet Modeling, leading to multiple patents, products, and opening new markets for 3D. From 1996 to 2004, they held various roles including Partner at Quantum Vision, Inc., Engineering Manager at Davis Instruments, Inc., and Director of Hardware Engineering at Alara, Inc. From 2004 to 2009, they were the Director of Project Engineering and Director of Mechanical Engineering at Prysm Inc. Jeffrey then served as the Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Dishcraft Robotics from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they are the Director of Hardware Engineering at Culture Biosciences.

Jeffrey Thayer obtained their Bachelor of Science in Physics; Experimental Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1980 and 1984. Jeffrey then went on to obtain their Masters of Science in Management of Technology from the MIT Sloan School of Management between 1995 and 1996. In addition, Jeffrey Thayer has obtained a number of certifications, including a Basic Coastal Cruising Instructor from the American Sailing Association in January 2022, a Basic Keelboat Instructor (ASA 101) from the American Sailing Association in November 2021, a Merchant Mariner OUPV, Near Coastal from the US Coast Guard in June 2022, a Certified Basic Keelboat Instructor from US Sailing in October 2019, a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance in July 2019, and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in June 2019.
