David Coxson

A principal at Cunningham | Quill Architects leading the Charlotte office, David has nearly 20 years’ experience in all phases of design and construction of complex residential and institutional projects of all scales, including higher education facilities, multi-family developments and urban infill, commercial mixed-use, custom single-family residential, adaptive-reuse, comprehensive renovation and preservation projects. David is a leader in the design and project management processes, with extensive experience in building planning, community outreach, entitlements’ navigation, building technologies, construction documentation, and sustainable practices implementation. No matter the project type or scale, David is passionate about the impact well-executed and considerate architecture can have on families, communities, and cities as a whole.

A licensed architect, a member of the NC & DC Chapters of the AIA and of ULI Charlotte, David focuses his time on being an active and positive member of the AEC and CRE communities. David holds a Master of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Colgate University.
