Idris Mustafa

Idris Mustafa has extensive experience in automation and software development. Idris is currently the Head of Automation (Software-side) at MESO SCALE DIAGNOSTICS, LLC., where they oversee automation projects. Previously, Idris worked as the CEO and Founder of Idris Dot Solutions starting in 2011. Idris has also held positions such as Vice President of Automation at Curative Inc. and Lead Automation Scientist at Genentech. Other notable roles include Senior Automation Scientist at Natera, Lead Automation Scientist at AstraZeneca, and a Java Developer at Telcare, a BioTelemetry Company. Idris has a strong background in programming and has worked on various automation projects, including designing and implementing custom software and robotics solutions. Idris also has experience in software engineering and cybersecurity from their time at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Maryland, where they worked as a Software and Cybersecurity Engineer and a Graduate Student Researcher, respectively.

Idris Mustafa earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry with minors in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics from Towson University. Idris completed graduate coursework in Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. Idris then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Information Systems with a specialization in Cyber Informatics and Software Engineering from the University of Maryland - The Graduate School. Additionally, Idris holds several certifications including Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Web Development Professional, among others. Idris also completed the Foundations of Cyber Security program from the University of Maryland University College.
