Ginann (Virginia) Franklin has extensive work experience in the field of libraries and educational technology. Ginann (Virginia) started their career at Morrison Academy in 1995 as a Library Media Specialist and served in this role until 2011. In 2012, they joined Currey Ingram Academy as the Director of Libraries and Educational Technology, where they continue to work presently.

Ginann (Virginia) Franklin obtained a Masters in Library Science (MLS) from The University of Alabama, where they studied from 1977 to 1979. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include Google Certification Level 2 from Google, which they received in July 2021. Ginann (Virginia) became a Digital Citizenship Ambassador through Common Sense Media in September 2015 and acquired the Copyright for Educators & Librarians certificate from Coursera Verified Certificates in August 2014. Lastly, in January 2014, Ginann became a Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Certified Educator.
