Richard Reuss started his Public Safety career in 1986 as a volunteer in a small town Emergency Management agency. He became the Emergency Management Director for a community from 2008-2016, and continues to coordinate 180 volunteers in a regional Medical Reserve Corps unit. He is a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and a Disaster Shelter Management instructor. He continues to proudly serve as a part time police officer in a small town where he is assigned to bicycle patrol and other assignments. Richard also does COVID compliance work for a local Public Health Department, and consults on Emergency and disaster planning as a private contractor. A new project will soon have him training a comfort dog for use in nursing homes and schools.
