Dr. Robert Shea leads the Faculty Center for Professional Development and Curriculum Innovation at Curry. He also leads and supports assessment and accreditation work and advances and supports the application and integration of academic technology. As a member of the Academic Affairs leadership team, Dr. Shea supports Strategic Planning, grantsmanship, faculty recruitment and faculty development, evaluation, and achievement.
Dr. Shea joined the Curry College community in 2021 after serving as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Pine Manor College. Dr. Shea's prior experience includes Vice Provost and Associate Provost for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning at Roger Williams University; Assistant Vice President for Teaching and Learning and Director of Faculty Development at Bryant University, and Director, Office of Student Learning, Outcomes Assessment and Accreditation at University of Rhode Island.
Dr. Shea has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Virginia. He has taught a variety of Sociology courses at several Colleges and Universities since 1994. His research interests include: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Service Learning, Medical Sociology, Social Psychology, Sociology of Culture, Family, and Gender.
