Gizachew Tessema currently serves as an Associate Professor and NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at Curtin University, with a robust academic background in public health. Previous roles include Senior Lecturer and Research Fellow positions at the same institution, as well as a Visiting Scientist at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Prior to these positions, Gizachew was a PhD Researcher and Academic Tutor at the University of Adelaide and spent several years at the Institute of Public Health at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia, contributing as an Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer and Graduate Assistant. Gizachew holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of Adelaide, a Master of Public Health in Reproductive and Child Health from the University of Gondar, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Hawassa University.
