Karen Irwin possesses extensive experience in special education and autism support. Currently serving as a Developmental Specialist at Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities since March 2019, Karen previously held several key roles at Achievement Centers for Children, including Autism School Manager and Program Coordinator for the Sensational Day Camp ESY Program. In these positions, Karen directed programs for children with autism, provided staff training, and implemented engaging activities tailored to campers' intensive needs. Additionally, Karen has worked as an Educational/Autism/Behavior Consultant, delivering training on positive behavior supports across multiple school districts, and has served as an adjunct professor at Ashland University and Community College of Allegheny County. Earlier career highlights include launching the first autistic support program in Pine Richland School District and providing clinical supervision as a Behavior Specialist Consultant. Karen holds a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education from Wittenberg University.
