Gili Kurtser is a data science intern at CIDR since June 2023 and a programming instructor at the Cyber Education Center since April 2023. Previously, Gili served as a geospatial data scientist at Kando, focusing on developing algorithms to detect disease outbreaks based on wastewater viral data and optimizing system deployment using geospatial analysis in Python. Earlier experience includes a role as a research assistant at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, working on atmospheric electricity and publishing a predictive model using MATLAB, as well as serving as a Geographic Information Systems analyst at the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics. Gili holds a Master of Science degree in Geophysics (Oceanography) from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a computer science minor from The Open University of Israel, alongside a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Earth Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
