Tom Newe

Tom Newe is a seasoned academic and industry professional with extensive experience in computer security and electronics. Currently a Professor at the University of Limerick since January 1994, Tom has held various positions including Senior Lecturer and Lecturer, and serves as the Course Director for the Mobile Communications and Security Degree Course. Additionally, Tom contributes to Cyber Skills as a UL Principal Investigator and is a Board Member of Cyber Ireland. Previously, Tom was a Co-Principal Investigator at the Confirm SFI Research Centre for Smart Manufacturing and worked as a Senior Software Engineer at the Microelectronics Applications Centre. Tom's early career included roles as a Test Engineer at Nixdorf Computer and an Electronic Technician at Urovac Medical Devices. Tom's educational background includes a PhD, MEng, and BEng in Computer Security and Computer Engineering from the University of Limerick, along with additional qualifications in Electronic Engineering.
