James Young has a diverse work experience in the IT industry. James began their career at Prometric, where they helped develop and test a Citrix-based virtual server and virtual desktop solution. James also provided end-user support and training during their time there.
After leaving Prometric, James worked at UPS as a QA Consultant. In this role, they were responsible for integrating and testing mission-critical applications used by UPS package operations. James had detailed technical knowledge of UPS hardware and software systems, including SQL databases, and was involved in server and workstation setup, software installation and configuration, and developing installation and verification processes.
James then joined CTI as a Network Engineer, where they provided level 2 support for helpdesk and desktop support issues. James supported and maintained computer hardware and peripherals, as well as operating system software.
Following their time at CTI, James worked at OBXtek as a Sr. LAN/WAN Engineer. James was part of the DCS/OSOHE/OHE/NSB team and was responsible for maintaining daily lab functions, such as backups, restores, replication, and testing.
James later joined Simple IT Care as an IT Manager before moving on to CyberCore Technologies as a Sr. IT Engineer. At CyberCore Technologies, they performed general IT duties for approximately 75 users in a corporate environment. James provided support for Deltek Payroll, Costpoint, and Sharepoint with SQL backends, and managed database backups and upgrades, the Momentum telephone system, and Cisco core.
Throughout their career, James has gained experience in various IT roles, demonstrating their expertise in networking, servers, desktop support, and virtual desktop solutions.
James Young attended the University of Maryland Global Campus from 1990 to 1994, majoring in Computer Science.
