Matt Bauer has a vast and diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Matt is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Cyberhaven since 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at CrowdStrike from 2015 to 2023. From 2015 to 2015, they were a Senior Apple Engineer at Bombich Software, Inc.
Matt also worked as an OS X Filesystem Engineer at SGI from 2013 to 2015, where they made significant improvements in low-level block storage systems and collaborated with a distributed team and customers. Before that, they were an Apple Engineering Consultant at Punch Through Design LLC from 2012 to 2014 and a Senior Apple Engineer at Code42 from 2012 to 2013.
Matt founded Pedal Brain in 2009, a startup focused on developing hardware and software products for the cycling industry. Matt successfully raised over $2.75 million during this venture and managed a team of eight, along with multiple stakeholders. Prior to that, they founded Mosquito Mole Multiworks from 2005 to 2008.
Early in their career, Matt served as a Senior Manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis from 2003 to 2005 and as a Senior Systems Administrator at the United States Postal Service from 2001 to 2003. Overall, Matt Bauer has extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles, with a strong focus on Apple technologies and entrepreneurship.
From 1996 to 2000, Matt Bauer attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During this time, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry, with a secondary focus on Ancient Greek.
