Terry Howard

Terry Howard has a strong background in the field of cybersecurity, with their most recent position being the Director of Security Engineering at CyberMaxx. In this role, they led a team of Security Engineers, focused on incident response, detection/rule engineering, and administration of security tools. Terry also implemented various initiatives to improve internal cross training, rule engineering, and overall security services.

Prior to this, Terry worked as a Security Architect at CyberMaxx, where they were responsible for consulting with and deploying security services to clients. Terry conducted research on new service products and provided mentorship to the Security Engineering team.

Before joining CyberMaxx, Terry served as the Security Engineering Supervisor, where they managed a team of Senior Security Engineers and Security Engineers. Terry handled diverse responsibilities including complex security architecture designs, project management, and resolving high impact issues. Terry also led the root cause analysis program and developed policies and procedures.

Earlier in their career, Terry worked as a Senior Security Engineer and Security Engineer, where they deployed various security solutions and monitored IPS and SIEM sensors for detecting security threats and providing resolution to clients.

Before their cybersecurity roles, Terry gained technical support experience as a Technical Support Specialist at Uniguest.

Terry Howard's education history includes a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Information Systems Security, which was obtained from ITT Technical Institute-Nashville and completed from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, Terry also pursued an Associate of Science (AS) in Computer Network Systems from the same institution, from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Terry has obtained several certifications including the Microsoft Security Immersion Completion Badge from Microsoft in November 2022, the ATT&CK® Cyber Threat Intelligence Certification, ATT&CK® Fundamentals Badge, and ATT&CK® Security Operations Center Assessment Certification from MITRE Engenuity in October 2022. Terry also holds the CrowdStrike Certified Falcon Administrator certification from CrowdStrike, obtained in June 2021. In February 2019, Terry obtained the GIAC Advisory Board certification and the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) certification from GIAC Certifications.
