Charlie Zhu

Dr. Charlie Zhu has been our VP of R&D since December 2021 and is based in our Singapore office. He was previously the Engineering Director and Singapore site manager since 2018. He joined CyberOptics in 2011 and held various positions including Senior Engineering Manager, Software Engineering Manager, and Software Project Manager. Prior to CyberOptics, he held various engineering roles at Rockwell Automation and Yokogawa Electric. He earned his Ph.D., from the School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, with research interests in Machine Learning and B. Eng., Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Over the past 10 years at CyberOptics, he has led the development of many successful system products and software projects. He has been instrumental in supporting the sales and operations teams to grow the company’s system and OEM business with a dedication to achieving customer satisfaction.
